Industry supplier IGT has signed a deal to extend its partnership with Swedish state-owned operator Svenska Spel, with an upgrade to Svenska Spel’s lottery and video terminal systems included as part of the agreement.
Their partnership, which commenced in 1996, will now continue for a further seven years, with the option for three separate one-year extensions included as part of the new contract.
IGT will now begin the process of upgrading Svenska Spel’s systems, with 6,000 new Quasar Video Lottery Terminals and a minimum of 2,000 IGT site controllers to be rolled out.
Walter Bugno, CEO of IGT International, says: “Throughout the last two decades, we’ve successfully supported and enhanced Svenska Spel’s approach to protecting players while creating advanced solutions to meet their business objectives.
“This contract will help to ensure that Svenska Spel continues to responsibly grow and remain competitive in a rapidly changing marketplace. It will help to increase player engagement, ensure the long-term sustainability of their offering, and provide a safe gaming experience for their players, which is the cornerstone of Svenska Spel’s program.”
This deal continues a strong start to the year for IGT, having already signed supply agreements with Coljuegos in Colombia and The Idaho Lottery in January.
